Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a unexpected collaboration that defies conventional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the official release, "A mysterious confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of banned practices and terrifying changes resonate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine sect.
The mission concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a striking sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Features
Players who finish the quest will obtain an special katana together with numerous objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Content
This patch also introduces the game's third no-cost story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime series. The series earlier showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
